Jewelry Information

At Cici's Collection, we offer a range of jewelry products made from various materials including alloy, gold, copper, brass, nickel, silver, platinum, stainless steel, and rhodium. We also offer cubic zirconia gemstones in different grades including A, AA, AAA, and AAAAA or 5A.

We understand that different individuals have different skin types and preferences for durability in their jewelry, which is why we recommend that you shop based on these factors when choosing your items. For example, if you have sensitive skin, you may want to choose jewelry made from hypoallergenic metals such as platinum, stainless steel, or certain grades of silver plated jewelry.

  1. An alloy is a mixture of two or more metals, often used to create a stronger and more durable material. Alloys can be made from a combination of different metals such as gold, silver, copper, or nickel. While the durability of an alloy can vary depending on the metals used, most alloys are more durable than pure metals. Alloys can also be hypoallergenic, making them a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  2. Gold is a soft and malleable metal, often alloyed with other metals to increase its durability for use in jewelry. The purity of gold is measured in karats, with 24 karat gold being the purest form. However, higher karat gold is softer and more prone to scratching or bending. For durability, it's recommended to choose 14 or 18 karat gold for jewelry. Gold is also hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  3. Copper is a soft and malleable metal that is often used in jewelry making due to its reddish-orange color. It is not typically used in its pure form for jewelry, but is often alloyed with other metals such as silver or brass to increase its durability. Copper is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  4. Brass is a mixture of copper and zinc, often used in jewelry making due to its durability and affordability. It has a yellowish-gold color and can be polished to a high shine. However, brass may not be hypoallergenic and can cause skin irritation in some individual’s
  5. Nickel is a strong and durable metal that is often used in jewelry making. However, it can cause skin irritation in some individuals with nickel allergies. If you have sensitive skin, it's recommended to avoid jewelry made with nickel or to look for jewelry labeled as nickel-free.
  6. Silver is a popular metal for jewelry making due to its affordability and versatility. Sterling silver is a combination of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper, to increase its durability. Silver is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  7. Platinum is a rare and expensive metal that is known for its strength, durability, and luster. It is often used in its pure form for jewelry making, with a purity of 95% to 99%. Platinum is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  8. Stainless steel is a durable and affordable metal that is often used in jewelry making. It is resistant to tarnishing and corrosion and is a popular choice for those who lead an active lifestyle. Stainless steel is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.
  9. Rhodium is a rare and expensive metal that is often used to plate other metals, such as silver or gold, to increase their durability and resistance to tarnishing. It has a bright, white shine and is hypoallergenic, making it a good option for those with sensitive skin.

Cubic zirconia (CZ) is a synthetic gemstone that is made to mimic the look of a diamond. It is affordable and widely used in jewelry making as a diamond substitute. CZ is created by melting zirconium oxide and yttrium oxide together, and then slowly cooling it to form cubic crystals.

Cubic zirconia can be differentiated by grade, with higher grade CZ having a more realistic and diamond-like appearance. The grades are determined based on the quality of the material used and the precision of the cutting and polishing process. The following are some common grades of cubic zirconia:

  1. A - The lowest grade of CZ, often used in costume jewelry. This grade has visible flaws, such as scratches or bubbles, and has a dull appearance.
  2. AA - A slightly higher grade of CZ, with fewer visible flaws than A-grade CZ. It has a slightly better appearance, but is still not as high quality as higher-grade CZ.
  3. AAA - A high-quality CZ, with very few visible flaws and a much better appearance than lower grades. It is often used in fine jewelry and is a popular choice for engagement rings.
  4. AAAAA or 5A - The highest grade of CZ, with almost no visible flaws and an appearance that is very close to a diamond. This grade of CZ is the most expensive and is often used in high-end jewelry.

It's important to note that while higher-grade CZ may have a more realistic appearance, it is still not as durable as a diamond and can scratch or chip over time. Additionally, CZ may not have the same value as a natural diamond or other precious gemstones.
